Starting your journey at Waitaki Chiropractic

Your First Visit

Weather you’re just starting care to manage pain or are searching for a holistic healthcare journey to stay well, we are here to walk alongside you on your journey to help you towards moving, living and feeling better.

If you’re new to chiropractic or have been under chiropractic care for a long time, we spend time getting to know you and your family and what health outcomes you’d like to achieve. We’ll have an in-depth conversation gathering as much information as we can about your lifestyle, health background, and motivations for staring your journey allowing us to thoroughly understand your needs.

We will also perform a range of physical assessments to understand if and/or why your body is not expressing optimally (which can be common due to daily stressors which can arise from birth).

These assessments include:

  • Orthopedic testing
  • Neurological testing
  • Range of motion and postural assessments
  • Review of x-rays or other imaging
  • ACC if required

Following this, if deemed appropriate, you’ll receive a chiropractic adjustment. This visit typically lasts around 30 minutes.

Second Visit – Report of Findings

This visit you’ll have an in-depth discussion with your chiropractor going through your findings from your first visit and the role your nervous system plays in your overall health and wellbeing and how we can help.
Your care plan is personalised and designed specifically to help achieve your goals followed by your recommended adjustments if appropriate. 

Regular/Wellness Care

Our primary goal is to enhance your spinal function, which plays a crucial role in supporting your nervous systems function and overall health. Once we have achieved improvements in your spinal function and overall health, we will provide opportunities for ongoing maintenance care. Additionally, we are committed to guiding you in making informed lifestyle choices to promote long-term well-being.

For regular visits, we provide a review of your main complaint, a full spinal assessment, and chiropractic adjustment using techniques best suited to you. If it’s been over 6 months since your last visit, please note that a longer appointment may be required. Additionally, our family pricing option offers a special rate, provided a minimum of 3 family members are under regular care with us.

Adjustment Techniques

There are many different techniques within chiropractic. Dr. Max and Maree use a combination of many different techniques to tailor their approach to each patient. Some of the main techniques they use are Diversified, Activator, Thompson-Drop.
